RIENNAS Hornchurch

I can’t quite explain why it’s taken so long to return to Riennas. But all I can say now is that after today’s fabulous lunch our next visit will be that far away. This was a fantastic dining experience with great food and the friendliest of service. All I want to add is that if you haven’t been yet then pick up the phone and book a table now.

As soon as we walked through the door we received a lovely warm welcome before being escorted to our table. Once we got comfortable we were presented with the menu and informed of the day’s specials. We then ordered a bottle of the Kleindal South African Chenin Blanc 2022 while we decided what to have. The menu consists of appetisers , oysters , lobsters , steaks , surf and turf , fish , meat , pasta and side dishes. Once we’d had a chat with Anna who was an absolute delight throughout we placed our order.

STARTERS – We began with the Mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce as well as for myself I opted for the Seafood Pot of the special’s which consisted of tiger prawns , calamari , prawns and mussels. Both dishes were delicious and the quality of the produce was amazing.

MAINS – Here we both decided to have fish starting with my wife’s choice of Sea Bass with white wine , tomato , prawn and chilli sauce served with sauté potatoes. I chose the Smoked Haddock with a poached egg and served on a bed of mash potatoes. We also chose a green beans and cauliflower cheese to accompany the dishes. Both dishes were fantastic and cooked to perfection.

DESSERTS – After a nice little break where my wife and Anna decided to talk to each other in Italian we moved on to dessert. Now they may have looked like old school desserts you used to get in a pub but here they were elevated to the next level. The Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Apple Pie which were both served with custard were amazing and the presentation was stunning.

We finished with a coffee to bring to an end a fabulous dining experience and definitely one we want to repeat very soon. I know quite a lot of locals rate this restaurant highly and I’m now delighted to say that I have joined them. So if you haven’t managed to visit RIENNAS yet then I would highly recommend doing so.
