Over recent years this restaurant has become a real favourite and I have to say that after our latest visit on saturday there’s definitely no reason to think this will change in the future. The Five Fields is set in Blacklands Terrace a quiet little street of the Kings Road in Chelsea. Here you will enter to a beautiful cosy dining room and enjoy a fabulous lunch / dinner with amazing food , great wine and excellent friendly service.
So now to our latest visit where on entering we received a warm welcome back from manager Jason before he escorted us to our table. This was followed by a complimentary glass of Charles Heidsieck 2006 Blanc des Millenaires champagne poured by Agnieszka who I definitely consider to be one of the top sommeliers in the country. We would enjoy the champagne along with some fabulous Canapés. The first was Salmon in a tomato tuille along with a Foie Gras parfait and finally a Celeriac Consommé.

Now it was time to look at the menu which for lunch is a seven course tasting menu with an optional extra cheese course. Once decided that the menu looked amazing and nothing needed to be adjusted we needed to choose some wine. On discussion with sommelier Agnieszka we went for her highly recommended Domaine Duroche 2015 Pinot Noir from Burgundy. This wine was light and fruity that was an absolutely perfect pairing with the majority of the menu.

We now moved onto the second course of Beetroot executed perfectly in two different ways. You started with the Red Beetroot with dill and smoked eel before refreshing your palate with the White Beetroot , creme fraiche and oyster. This was followed by the Brassicas which was a stunning Roasted Scallop with cured turnips followed by a Red Cabbage mousse and crispy kale. The flavour combinations of each dish were simply sublime.

What was to follow next would literally blow us away. This was an absolutely fantastic Jerusalem Artichoke with sunflower seeds and oxtail a definite highlight of the day. Now it was time for the main course of Fallow Deer with swede and meadowsweet a dish worthy of being the main dish in any establishment. We then decided to have the additional extra Cheese Course accompanied by a glass of port. There was a selection of three cheeses along with bread , crackers , celery , pickled walnuts , honeycomb , pear chutney and a surprise to us in cumin fudge that was actually a delightful pairing with the goat’s cheese.

Now we moved on to dessert which started with a fabulous and refreshing Blood Orange Sorbet with buttermilk before the main dessert a Rhubarb Tartare with jasmine cream. This was paired delightfully with a glass of Rathfinny sparkling rose wine and for me a 2016 Jurancon sweet wine courtesy of sommelier Agnieszka which was a fantastic gesture on her part.

We finished with tea , coffee and petit fours to bring to an end an outstanding lunch. The food created by chefs Taylor , Marguerite and the team was simply amazing. The service led by manager Jason , Sandra and Michaela was impeccable. The wine pairings from Agnieszka were just perfect. This is why I would highly recommend a visit to this fabulous restaurant and personally can’t wait to return again myself in the near future.

Thank You Taylor , Marguerite , Jason and all the team for a fantastic dining experience and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
