We enjoyed some fabulous visits to Kervan Kitchen Gidea Park last year and if our lunch on Sunday is anything to go by then we’re in for another fantastic year again. The food is always amazing and this is matched by the friendliest of service that makes this restaurant an absolute pleasure to visit.
As it was a nice day we headed of on 20 minute walk to Gidea Park where virtually opposite the train station is where you’ll find the restaurant. We entered and received the usual friendly welcome before being seated at a table by the window. This gave us a nice view outside as well as the entire restaurant including big open kitchen where there’s a huge kebab grill. We enjoyed a glass of Finca La Colonia an Argentinian Malbec along with some pitta bread along with garlic and chilli dips while we took a look at the menu.

For our starters we opted for two dishes from the Hot section and one from the Cold. The hot items were Sigara Boregi – pastry filled with feta and spinach before being deep fried and the Chicken Livers served with a fresh onion salad. To compliment these from the cold section we ordered the Patlican Soslu – aubergine , peppers , onions in a tomato sauce. All three dishes were absolutely delicious.

After a little break it was now time to order our main courses. My wife chose the Mixed Grilled Seafood of prawn , monkfish and salmon cooked on a charcoal grill. For myself I decided to have the Chef Special Chicken Casserole with asparagus , mushroom and halloumi cheese which is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. I accompanied this with a side of Bulgar.

Now it was time for dessert where we chose the Baklava which is pastry filled with pistachio , syrup and served with vanilla ice cream. We also ordered the Firin Sutlac a turkish style rice pudding with lemon peel.

We finished with a coffee to bring to an end another fantastic lunch at Kervan Kitchen. The food and service was once again excellent and we definitely can’t wait to return again very soon. I would highly recommend a visit for either a quick or long lunch , for small or large groups and even for one of their entertainment events.
