Our Hornchurch Saturday

It’s not often we get the chance on a saturday to enjoy some of our favourite places in my hometown of Hornchurch but luckily this weekend we had that opportunity. We enjoyed a fabulous brunch followed by lunchtime drinks before heading of to support our local football team and finishing the day with a nice Indian dinner.

LE MOULIN PATISSERIE

We started the day with a visit to one of our favourites Le Moulin where it’s always a pleasure to see owners Helene , Serge , daughter Charlotte and the rest of the team. We enjoyed a fantastic brunch including a heavenly Brie & Bacon Sandwich , a Pizza Base with bacon , mushroom & tomato , Tomato & Cheese Croissant and my wife’s favourite a Sausage Roll. We then of course couldn’t leave without having one of their amazing cakes so we tucked into a giant Raspberry Macaroon and a Pina Colada.

HOP INN HORNCHURCH

Our second stop was to be at the Hop Inn to enjoy a lunchtime / pre match drink. This is such a great place to pop in for a drink as the team’s knowledge about the drinks industry is second to none. My wife enjoyed a couple of Gin & Tonic’s while I had the pleasure of tasting a fabulous Dark Ruby Mild from the Leigh on Sea Brewery as well as an old favourite the Hammerton Brewery Peanut Butter Milk Stout.

HORNCHURCH F.C

It was now time for a half an hour stroll to see our local football team the Mighty Urchins versus Merstham in a non league clash. The home team played well and ended the match with a 1 – 0 victory. The team were well supported which created a good atmosphere. I really feel this is something I should do more often. Well done Urchins and see you again soon.

NOOR INDIAN RESTAURANT

We finished the day with a long overdue visit to Noor and I’m glad to say the food and service was as good as we remembered. After tucking into some Poppadoms & Chutneys it was time for the main event. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi , Chicken Shashlik , Bombay Aloo , Mixed Vegetable Bhaji , Keema Naan & Special Pilau Rice. I really would recommend a visit.

So after a great day we headed home to relax for the evening. Many Thanks to Le Moulin , Hop Inn , Hornchurch F.C & Noor for your hospitality and looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
