Kerridge’s Bar and Grill

It was an absolute pleasure to be back at Kerridge’s Bar and Grill one of our favourite restaurants on saturday and where once again we enjoyed another fantastic lunch. There’s always a great friendly atmosphere here as well which is generated by manager Matthew and his team.

We arrived at the Corinthia Hotel on saturday where we also had the pleasure earlier in the year to spend our anniversary weekend and made our way to the restaurant. As we opened the door there was Matthew himself to greet us. Then after a quick chat we took a seat at the fabulous Kerridge’s Bar. A complimentary glass of champagne was sent to our table as a welcome back from the team which was a nice touch. We followed this by trying two of their amazing new cocktails a Ginger Margarita and a Rum Manhattan.

Now it was time to take our seat in the restaurant where we were given a lovely table with a great view back towards the bar area. It was now time to look at the menu which is A la Carte while enjoying a Cheese & Pickle Gougeres plus the heavenly Bread & Butter. Once we’d chosen our dishes with the assistance and recommendations from Matthew it was time to choose a bottle of wine. Here the sommelier suggested a Spanish 2018 Alanda from Galicia. This was delicious with citrus notes on the nose and a mineral finish on the palate. This was indeed a perfect match for our first two courses.

STARTERS

For our first course my wife chose the Beetroot Cured Salmon with horseradish cream cheese , peruvian marigold accompanied with a caraway crumpet. For myself I opted for the Tunworth Royale with a spiced date sauce , pickled apple , hazelnuts & australian winter truffle along with beer crackers. This dish I’m my opinion was absolute cheese heaven.

MAINS

Now we moved onto the main course where my wife opted for the Deep Fried Fillet of Lemon Sole and Chips with pease pudding , matson spiced sauce & tartare sauce. Just looking at my wife’s face you could clearly see how good it was. I went for the Beer Brined Cotswold White Chicken with jerusalem artichoke , a devine malt glazed thigh nugget , australian winter truffle and a vin jaune sauce. This dish was simply stunning.

DESSERT

After a nice rest we moved on to dessert. For this my wife decided to have the cheese course. A selection of three cheeses with a fig & cherry chutney , grapes , crackers and a glass of 2015 LBV Barros Vintage Port. I chose the Banana Souffle which was amazing with coconut sorbet and a fabulous rum & chocolate sauce along with a glass of 2009 Sauternes Chateau Monteils from Bordeaux.

We finished with a coffee to bring to an end another fantastic visit to Kerridge’s Bar and Grill. The food was absolutely amazing and matched by excellent wine pairings. The service led by Matthew and his team was a good as ever. So yes I would highly recommend a visit as I believe you will not be disappointed. I for one definitely hope to return again in the near future.

Thank You Matthew and all your team for a fabulous dining experience once again and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
