This has to be one of the best takeaways I’ve had in a long time. It all came about when a leaflet came through the door and let’s be honest most of the time we just throw them away. But this one caught my eye. Firstly because the food was of a different style to anything locally. Secondly was that the chef Megha Arora had a background of working in Michelin Star restaurants around the world. Finally it was great that they were also only a five minute drive away. Megha had only set up the Pink Foodie in October 2020 due to the current COVID situation that we’re in at the moment. Before this she offered a private dining experience at her restaurant CREM Kitchen. The food is described as Global Cuisine with a menu consisting of bao buns , dumplings , rice bowls and desserts. It was also good to see that they also have halal , vegetarian & vegan options available. We were personally delighted to see that they were open on a saturday lunchtime. So after a few conversations on social media I placed our order on the friday to be delivered on the saturday. You don’t have to do this you can simply book a few hours in advance. Once the order is made you receive an email and a message giving you the opportunity to track your delivery. So now to the day itself and right on schedule our delivery arrived. We checked to make sure we had everything before taking our seats at the table.
Starters
For starters we ordered the Keema Bao Buns which were absolutely delicious and in fact the only disappointing thing was that we only had one each. Along with these we also had the Dumplings that came in two flavours. Firstly the Sichuan Spicy Pork and secondly the Pork & Chive. The dumplings were fabulous and were accompanied by a homemade chilli oil.

Mains
Now we moved onto our mains where we chose three of the rice bowls. The Seoul Beef Rice Bowl which was served with egg , carrots , sugar snap peas & apple. The Tokyo Salmon Rice Bowl where the salmon is marinated in a ginger lime dressing and served with carrots , cucumber , sugar snap peas & cucumber. Lastly the Bangkok Chicken Rice Bowl a thai red curry with carrots , asian salad & cherry tomatoes. All three dishes were very different but were all amazing and the flavours just danced around your palate with joy. To be honest the bowls are quite a hearty size so one per person would be perfect.

Desserts
We then finished with dessert and what little delights they were to. The Banoffee Tart & Lemon Tart were of a very high quality indeed to the point where if you were served these in a restaurant you wou be very pleased.

This truly rounded of a fantastic takeaway lunch. It’s always an absolute pleasure to support a new local business and based on today it’s something I would be more than happy to do again. So now your not going to be surprised when I say that I would highly recommend Pink Foodie. The food is cooked fresh and of a very high standard. I’m already looking forward to placing another order very soon.
Thank You Megha for a fabulous lunch and looking forward to seeing you again soon.
