Da Vinci’s – Valentines at Home

We were looking to start Valentines weekend of nicely so therefore couldn’t have been more pleased when we saw that one of our favourite local restaurants Da Vinci’s were offering a Valentines Menu. This was priced at £75 for three courses and which also included a bottle of sparkling wine. It was also great that it wasn’t a set menu giving you the opportunity to choose your own dishes. This was from a selection of 3 starters , 4 mains and 3 desserts. After we placed our order we received a call from owner Craig who took our payment and then discussed our delivery time. It came to saturday and right on schedule our package arrived. We took it inside and separated everything so we new which items were going with each dish. This was made easier by the fact that everything was clearly labelled and there was also a description of each course along with the cooking instructions.

Starters

For our first course we chose the Crab Thermidor and the Wild Mushroom & Ricotta Panzotti in a wild mushroom & mascarpone sauce. Both of these dishes were very simple to prepare by either being warmed in the oven or heated in the pan. I am very pleased to say that they were absolutely delicious.

Mains

We now moved onto our main courses of Poached Halibut with crayfish , samphire & veloute sauce and the Prosciutto Wrapped Ballotine of Chicken stuffed with sun blushed tomatoes & mozzarella. These were two fabulous dishes that came with a selection of vegetables & new potatoes. Once again the preparation of each dish was as easy as it could be.

Desserts

We then finished with dessert which just simply had to be removed from the fridge and plated. They were a Chocolate Brownie with poached strawberries & vanilla ice cream and the Velvet Heart a chocolate & raspberry mousse with a praline biscuit base. These two desserts were an absolute delight and a perfect way to finish.

So there you are a fantastic way to start Valentines weekend had come to an end. The delivery was at time stated and the food was amazing. Every dish was so easy to prepare giving your the opportunity to enjoy a fabulous lunch in the comfort of your own home. I’m so pleased that we were able to support this amazing local restaurant and can’t wait until we’re able to visit once again. But in the meantime I would highly recommend ordering from their takeaway menu as you won’t be disappointed.

Thank You to Craig and his team and hope to see you all again soon.
