Having not so long ago enjoyed a fantastic evening of Indian food at Cafe Spice Namaste we were delighted that they were offering a selection of three Goan Boxes priced at £70 for two people for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. For this you get 2 Starters each , 2 x Pork Vindaloo along with accompaniments of rice , onion salad , papads , garnish , 2 buns and desserts. So we placed our order to which you can have delivered on a Thursday or Friday and that will keep until the following day. Our parcel arrived on the friday at exactly the time stated. Once opened and checked we put it in the fridge and waited for saturday to come. This also gave us time to look at the cooking instructions. These were as simple as can be as you you either warm them in the oven or heat up in a pan so yet again this is another restaurant making things as easy as possible so that your not spending to long in the kitchen.
Starters
The first of our two starters was the Frango Peri-Peri a chargrilled chicken thigh marinated in a goan style piri piri masala and served with Mr Todiwala’s dusting powder. The chicken was so tender and the flavours were amazing. Our second starter was the Bolos de Bacalhau these were delightful little Salted Cod Cakes served with tomato & garlic mayo.

Main
Now it was time for the Goan Pork Vindaloo in a goan style sauce so although not as hot as your usual vindaloo it was very bold in flavour and simply fabulous. This was served with rice , papads , onion salad , garnish and Pao Com Passas e Manteiga. These were delightful portuguese buns with raisins and butter.

Dessert
We finished with Bebinca which was a coconut layered pancake flavoured with nutmeg. I chose to add vanilla ice cream which is recommended and I have to say was delicious.
Bebinca
This brought to an end and absolutely delightful afternoon full of the mix of amazing indian & portuguese flavours. At £70 for two people and considering the quality of the produce this was excellent value and something I would highly recommend trying.
Thank You Cyrus & Pervin for this fabulous Goan Box and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

This looks so tasty Lloyd! You are lucky to have great dining options where you are, and prepared like this for you to finish. Indian food in Bordeaux is still trying to find its stride. But I tell you, when I make it over there, will definitely ask you for recommendations!
No problem I’ll be glad to assist you
This looks delicious Lloyd! It’s great that restaurants are still able to have some form of business in these weird times we are in. what a fab idea of sending a box out!
