Cafe Murano – Italian Winter Supper

Looking for a way to continue my support for the hospitality industry when I realised that many restaurants were offering Cook at Home packages. Being a big fan of Murano & Angela Hartnett this drew our attention to her sister restaurant Cafe Murano and their Italian Winter Supper menu. It was a four course menu priced at £75 for two people including delivery. What also appealed was that it seemed to involve minimal time in the kitchen. Another plus was that it gets delivered on a Friday and will last for three days giving you the freedom to enjoy at your convenience. It’s all booked through a company called Dishpatch who’s service I have to say was excellent. So on the Friday morning we received a delivery time and right on schedule our parcel arrived. You couldn’t fault the packaging which included ice packs to keep everything fresh. So I unpacked and in the fridge it went then we waited for saturday to come around. Now to the day itself where we started with the first course which was Focaccia , Salami & Mushroom Arancini that literally took about ten minutes to prepare. The second course was even easier and I would even recommend preparing at the same time. It was Buffalo Mozzarella with Lentil & Walnut Vinaigrette that you just simply remove from the packaging and put onto the plate.

Now we moved onto the main course of Braised Ox Cheek with Parmesan Polenta & Carrots. The preparation of this dish is as simple as it can be with the ox cheek in one pan and the polenta in the other. Twelve minutes later it’s ready to serve.

To finish we enjoyed a Scotti Chocolate Caprese with Creme Fraiche that you simply remove from the package and serve.

So this brought to an end a fabulous dining at home experience and definitely one that I would highly recommend. The quality of the produce is fantastic and the simplicity of preparing each dish couldn’t be made any easier in fact we worked out that to prepare all the dishes took about thirty minutes. The service from Dishpatch was excellent and I would certainly consider using them again in the future. I would also say that at £75 for two people with the quality of the food and service this is excellent value for money.

Thank You Cafe Murano & Dishpatch for your fabulous food and delivery.
