Pain Perdu and Sauternes

This sweet wine and dessert was just the perfect way to end a truly fabulous tasting menu lunch at Core by Clare Smyth. The dessert was a Mont Blanc Pain Perdu that was absolutely amazing. The pairing by sommelier Gareth was a fantastic Chateau de Rayne Vigneau 2005 Sauternes with it’s flavours of saffron & apricot matched the dessert perfectly.
