It was a real pleasure to continue my support for local restaurants in my hometown of Hornchurch with a first time visit to the newly refurbished Greenwoods Kitchen. The place is now run by brothers Gary & John who should be very pleased with the outcome. We decided to go on sunday for a early lunch and couldn’t have been more pleased as the food was fabulous and was matched by excellent friendly service. When we arrived we were given a nice friendly welcome before being seated at our table. As it had been refurbished recently everything was spotlessly clean and the tables were nice spread apart. We then looked at the menu which had a great selection from a full english breakfast , omelettes , sandwiches , burgers , salads and desserts with a small choice for children. Your choice of drinks ranged from tea , coffee , milkshakes , smoothies , soft drinks and even beer and wine. While we decided what to order I started with a delicious Vanilla Milkshake that was topped with maltesers & whipped cream that was just heaven.

We both decided to order burgers so chose the Halloumi Burger in a brioche bun with chilli jam , spinach , cucumber , peppers & topped with an addition of bacon. I chose the Cheese Burger also in a brioche bun and topped with lettuce , onion , mustard mayo , gherkin & a side of coleslaw. To accompany our burgers we ordered some cheesy chips & sweet potato fries. It was all fresh , hot and cooked perfectly making it a real pleasure to eat.

They had a small selection of desserts but luckily for me they had a Chocolate Brownie that was rich , gooey and absolutely delicious so I was well pleased.

This brought to an end a fantastic lunch where the food was of a very high standard. This was matched by excellent service from the young team who couldn’t have been more friendly and polite. I would highly recommend a visit and will definitely be returning myself as soon as possible.
Thank You to Gary , John and all the team for looking after us today and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
