Our Day in Hornchurch

It’s not often we get the opportunity to stay local on a Saturday and spend it in our hometown of Hornchurch but this weekend that’s exactly what we did. The start of the day didn’t go so well as we intended to have brunch in French’s Cafe but due to their popularity they were full and also it was quite a wait for food. Luckily though there are a couple of other nice places to visit so with that we took the couple of minutes walk up the road to The Garden Cafe. We’ve been here before as the food was good , the staff are friendly and it’s very clean. We both decided to order the Full English Breakfast with extra Black Pudding which was nicely cooked and set us up for the rest of the day.

Next on the list it was time for drinks in somewhere which has turned out to be a real favourite of ours The Hop Inn. This is a fantastic little micro pub serves a fabulous arrange of beers from great local breweries as well as an extensive gin list. They also serve a good range of ciders , sours , wine & spirits that you can enjoy with a delightful selection of snacks. This really is a fabulous place where hosts Phil & Alison along with Paul & Andrew really do take care of you and there knowledge is second to none. It’s also a bit old school as they don’t serve food and there’s no music giving everyone the opportunity to meet and chat with other locals from Hornchurch. To be honest we love it here and look forward to many more visits in the future 🍻.

To finish our day it was time to head back in to the centre of town to Le Moulin Patisserie which without doubt make the best cakes in Essex. This is an amazing coffee shop where the locals can gather and enjoy a delightful coffee & pastry , a light lunch from a fabulous menu or be like me who likes to visit and try as many things as possible 😀. They also make the most amazing birthday or any celebration cakes. Owners Helene , Serge and all the staff are so very friendly so if you are ever in Hornchurch then here really is a must visit.

This rounded of our great day in Hornchurch and so headed home to relax for the evening. There are other great places to visit in town ie Tandoori Lounge , Da Vinci’s , Tops Cafe , Nandos , Sukhothai , French’s Cafe , and the Wimpy where we’ll look forward to visiting these places again very soon.
