My Foodie February

This was definitely a fabulous and full Foodie month to which the majority was a credit to my county of Essex with the addition of two amazing visits to restaurants in East London. We enjoyed three fantastic Tasting Menu’s , three glorious Sunday Roasts and a amazing fish feast.

We started the month with a visit to our favourite Haywards where we were treated by Chef Jahdre Hayward who decided to create a Tasting Menu just for us. This also gave us the opportunity to try the new dishes to appear on their menus and yes they were all amazing.

The following weekend kept us in Essex with first on the Saturday a long overdue return to Rubino Kitchen in Maldon. This lunch was made all the the better when to our surprise Head Chef Rob said we could order from any menu we liked. So with that in mind we decided to have the Evening Tasting Menu which was fantastic. We followed this on Sunday with a first visit to The Top Oak in Stapleford Abbotts for a glorious Roast. We were so glad to have finally visited having driven past here so many times.

The following Saturday was our second new place of the month and a fantastic visit it was to. We headed to Shoreditch for a Tasting Menu at the Frog Hoxton. The food here was amazing and well worth a visit. We followed this with a return visit to the Galvin Green Man in Chelmsford but on this occasion for a great Sunday Lunch.

On our final weekend of the month we headed back to two favourites the first being Cornerstone Hackney for the most amazing fish dishes you will ever taste. This restaurant is amazing and I’m looking forward to many more visits in the future. We ended the month back where we started with a visit to Haywards for their amazing Cote de Beouf Sunday Roast it really is a fabulous cut of meat and always a pleasure to eat.

I think you’ll agree this was a fantastic Foodie month and one that I really enjoyed. Stay tuned to see where I am in March with a couple beauts already lined up.

I'm a big Foodie and love Fine Dining in AA Rosette and Michelin Star restaurants also enjoy good Pub Food especially Desserts . I been living in Hornchurch for 20yrs now and this year celebrate my 25th Wedding Anniversary to my wife Jane . We do enjoy our holidays with Italy & San Diego as our favourite destinations I've decided to focus more on my Foodie life due to over 3 years ago being struck down with nerve damage and recently spondylosis I do enjoy my sport and follow Chelsea , Juventus & San Diego Padres

  1. Oh my goodness, Lloyd! All of this food looks and sounds so amazing. Makes me want to try and cook some of it for myself over here in the States!
