My Amazing Foodie August

This certainly was a great Foodie month especially with a birthday celebration week at the end. There were visits to three new restaurants and a return to five others. We began the month with a visit to the new venue for Crockers Chefs Table which is now based in Tring and there certainly was an improvement as they now have a cocktail bar downstairs. Then upstairs the dining room with open kitchen is a great setting. The food was again amazing and to watch the chefs in action is a great experience.

The following week we returned to a local Italian restaurant Osteria Due Amici in Upminster and was very pleased with another delightful lunch. This place serves really good Italian food with friendly service. Then on the Sunday it was of to Tredwells for our first visit and I have to say the Sunday Lunch was an absolute treat. Great food and excellent service so will definitely return

So on we go to the following Saturday where it was a great pleasure to visit once again my favourite place Haywards for one of their Cooking Demonstrations which are always good fun and well worth attending. Also you get to eat some more of their fabulous food. On the Sunday we headed of to Spitalfields for some mediterranean cuisine at Ottolenghi and despite feeling a little rushed the food was very good

We now reach the last week of the month and what a fantastic way to begin than with a return to Cornerstone in Hackney Wick this really is a fish lovers dream as each course is simply stunning. I’m so glad we’re already booked in again soon. The last Sunday took us back to the Hoop pub in Ingatestone for a Sunday Roast and once again the food and service did not disappoint

We ended the month in some style with a long overdue return to The Five Fields for a truly amazing dinner where the food and service was outstanding and I can honestly say we won’t be leaving it so long before we visit again.

This certainly was a fabulous Foodie month and one that will certainly be remembered for a long while. We now head into September where I’ll be looking forward to some fabulous Italian food on holiday in Viareggio so until then. Happy Dining
