White Hart Inn

We’d been wanting to visit here for a little while now as it was one of the places featured in the Essex Feast book. Having also heard some good things as well we thought it was time to try here ourselves. So with that we opted to go for Sunday Lunch. It’s set on a quiet country lane in Margaretting in Ingatestone. The pub is in a good spacious area with nice grounds which are perfect for the summer. There is also plenty of room inside so whether your party is small or large they would be able to cater for you. As we entered the friendliness of the staff hits you straight away and your made to feel very welcome. We had arrived a little early to have a drink at the bar first to which they told us where we’d be sitting in case we wanted to sit down with our drinks so we did. Without being rushed in any way we decided to look at the menu and you certainly had plenty to choose and my wife couldn’t have been more pleased when told that the Ribs were available. We started with Bruschetta , Duck Terrine & Prawn,Crayfish & Avocado Tian

DUCK TERRINE
BRUSCHETTA
It was then time for our mains which yes one was the Ribs we also had Roast Beef a Mixed Roast & Sea Bream. The food was nicely cooked the only slight downside was the vegetables just a bit tasteless
RIBS
MIXED ROAST
After a nice little break it was time for desserts a Mango Parfait , Chocolate Hazelnut Mousse , Pannacotta and a heavenly Sticky Toffee Pudding Ice Cream Sundae a perfect Sunday Lunch dessert
MANGO PARFAIT
STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING ICE CREAM SUNDAE
We then had a coffee which ended a delightful Sunday Lunch. I would recommend as the food is good all the staff are very friendly and despite them being very busy your not rushed at all I would advise booking if there’s more than two people as it is popular.
