A great evening spent at Haywards to help promote a book about Essex restaurants & chefs featuring 20 great chefs from the wonderful county of Essex and as part of this Jahdre Hayward & Rob Horton decided to spend an evening at each others restaurant . They had a successful evening when Chef Jahdre visited Rubino so last night it was the turn of Chef Rob to visit Haywards and between them produced some great food for a fantastic evening . After enjoying some wonderful snacks it was in to the first course a Pumpkin Tortelli topped with crushed Amaretti Biscuits this was followed by a delightful Poached Trout & Red Cabbage Gazpacho . Then it was on to a delicious Smoked Haddock Scotch Egg with Raisins & Puffed Rice this lead us to the main course which definetly worth the wait amazing Veal Sweetbreads and a Parmesan Risotto before finishing with a heavenly Vanilla & Rhubarb Cheesecake. This rounded of a truly wonderful evening and great credit must go to both restaurants for getting together to promote this fantastic book. PUMPKIN TORTELLI
