Jobbers Rest

Wondering where to go for lunch on Sunday while we were out decided to give the Jobbers Rest a call to see if they could fit us in and they were more than happy to oblige. Although the pub has been here for years five months ago it opened under the White Brassiere Company who have turned it into a very nice restaurant but also still plenty of space if you just want to pop in for a drink. We were warmly greeted on arrival and this set the tone throughout our lunch especially our waitress Sophie who was extremely pleasant and helpful in guiding us through the menu and also her recommendations with the wine to accompany our choices . We were also nicely surprised that they served there main menu aswell as the Sunday Lunch menu. So onto the best part the food and this certainly didn’t disappoint we started with the Potted Cromer Crab and the amazing Burgundian Snails before moving onto our mains of Mussels and the Shoulder & Leg of Roast Suckling Pig just delicious then to the desserts and oh my god a fantastic Pistachio Soufflé and let’s just say it was big and the English Gooseberry Compote & Cinnamon Crumble this rounded of a very nice Lunch. This Pub / Restaurant  is certainly a another notch on great places to eat in Essex and well worth a trip to Upminster and I for one will definitely be returning soon
